Hi, friends! It’s me, Flat Stanley Brayden, reporting from Germany! After a super-long plane ride all the way from Washington Dulles to Frankfurt, I’ve finally arrived in Europe. Can you believe it? This is my very first trip across the Atlantic Ocean, and I’m so excited to explore all the amazing places on this adventure.
We landed at the Frankfurt Airport bright and early this morning—at 7:00 AM, local time! That’s way earlier than I’m used to waking up, but don’t worry, I got plenty of rest on the plane. After grabbing a quick snack at the airport, we hopped onto another plane for a short flight to Nuremberg, where all the holiday fun begins.
Our hotel, the Park Plaza Nuremberg, is super fancy, and guess what? It’s really close to the Old Town, where all the Christmas magic happens. I even got to peek out the window and see some of the city’s medieval buildings—so cool!
But the best part of today? The Christkindlesmarkt (try saying that three times fast!). This is one of the oldest and most famous Christmas markets in the world, and today was the big opening ceremony. At 5 PM, the Christkind (a fancy angel) gave a special speech, and suddenly the whole market came to life with twinkling lights, cheerful music, and the smell of delicious food.
I wandered through the stalls and saw so many cool things: wooden toys, ornaments, and tasty treats like gingerbread and bratwurst. I even tried a sip of hot chocolate to warm up—it’s like a hug in a cup! It’s been a long, fun day, and I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
Stay tuned for more of my adventures in Nuremberg!

We had a lady greet us at the Frankfort Airport and guide us to our gate. I am still looking for the missing R! |
